Day 1: Luanda
- Arrival in Luanda. Welcome at the airport by your guide. Transfer to the Ilha Mar hotel on the Ilha.
- Briefing on your trip.

- Afternoon at leisure on the beach in front of your hotel, or guided tour of the city

Day 2 : Luanda – Massangano (220kms/3h) Massangano-Dondo (35kms/45mns) Dondo-N’Dalatando (80kms/1h30)
- Departure for Massangano.
- After having left Luanda and its agitation and after about fifty kms, the urbanization gives way to a pretty road lined with baobabs. Small markets offering local fruits and vegetables are visible all along the road. Nice road in a very green environment, despite some holes here and there.
- About 20 km before arriving at Dondo, you will take a track on your right, which will lead you to the village of Massangano.
- Massangano was the temporary capital of Angola from 1641 to 1648 during the occupation of Luanda by the Dutch troops. Visit the ruins of the court and prison, the building that housed the first Council of Angola, and the fortress from which a beautiful view of the Rio Kwanza awaits you.
- Visit the Nossa Senhora da Vitoria church, where slaves were baptised before being shipped to the Americas.
- In front of the church is the tomb of Paulo Dias de Novais, founder of the city of Luanda and of Massangano.
- Lunch at the Kissanga restaurant in Dondo.
- The road to N'Dalatando winds through a forest that alternates between dense vegetation and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Visit the botanical garden of N'Dalatando which dates back to the colonial era. Nowadays it has been overgrown by the jungle and still offers a magnificent walk in the middle of a triumphant nature. You will see the famous Porcelain Roses, which are only found in very rare parts of the world.
- Overnight and dinner at Hotel Terminus in N'Dalatando.

Day 3 : N’Dalatando-Chutes de Kalandula (160kms/2h)
- Departure for Kalandula Falls
- Nice road to Cacuso then some holes as we approach Kalandula. The falls are visible several kms before arriving there, breathtaking view, photo stop!
- Some fruit and peanut sellers on the side of the road.
- Visit of the falls, descent to the river at the foot of the falls, local guides local guides will help the less athletic ones to go back up !
- Lunch at the Pousada de Calandula
- Visit of the falls on the other side, and of the rapids after about 20 km.
- Night and dinner at the Pousada de Calandula. Great view on the falls from the terrace.

Day 4 : Chutes de Kalandula-Pungo Andongo-N’Dalatando (250kms)
- Departure for the Pedras Negras, in Pungo Andongo. A mythical place for the Angolans, capital of the kingdom of Queen Njinga, emblematic figure of the fight against the invader in the 16th century.
- Hike and picnic in the middle of this geological enigma.
- Overnight and dinner at the Terminus Hotel in N'Dalatando.

Day 5 : N’Dalatando-Conda (530kms/6h)
- Drive to Conda, this will be your longest stage on a beautiful road alternating forest, mountains and coconut trees ... Still some markets on the roadside.
- Picnic lunch on the way.
- Night and dinner at the Fazenda Rio Uiri.

Days 6/7 : Fazenda Rio Uiri
- Hiking around the Fazenda.
- Visit of the farm.
- Possibility of excursion by car to see the hippos of Waku Kungo.
- Visit of the Kumbira forest.
- Lunch, night and dinner at the Fazenda.

Day 8 : Conda-Sumbe (160kms/2h) Sumbe-Porto Amboim (70kms/1h) Porto Amboim-Cabo Ledo (150kms/2h)
- Departure for the coast, en route to Sumbe.
- Another nice drive, the scenery changing as we get closer to the ocean.
- Arriving in Sumbe, we make a small diversions to the Keve River to visit the Binga Falls.
- Less breathtaking than the Kalandula Falls, they are still one of Angola's must-see attractions.
- After admiring the falls and another 70 kms of driving, we will arrive in Porto Amboim, our lunch stop by the sea, where the meals offered by the Angolan terroir will give way to fish and shellfish!
- After lunch, we will continue on a very good road for about 2 hours, more frequented than the ones in the interior of the country, and we will arrive in Cabo
Ledo and its beaches renowned for lazing around, surfing or fishing.
- Dinner and overnight at Carpe Diem Lodge

Day 9 : Cabo Ledo
- Visit of the Quicama National Park, antelopes, giraffes, elephants etc... are waiting for you.
- Majestic landscapes and breathtaking views of the Rio Kwanza.
- Possibility of a boat trip on the river.
- An excursion to Muxima, a place of pilgrimage in Angola
- Lunch at the Lodge and afternoon at the beach.
- Dinner and overnight at Carpe Diem Lodge

Day 10 : Cabo Ledo - Luanda (120kms/2h)
- Departure for Luanda.
- Stop at Miradouro da Lua to admire the famous rock formations sculpted by the winds and the ocean.
- Visit the Slavery Museum a few kms before arriving in Luanda.
- Dinner at Café del Mar
- Night at the Ilha Mar hotel

Day 11 : Luanda
- Spend the morning on the beach, or do a guided tour of the city
- Lunch at Coconuts
- Transfer to the airport.

Chibia.
Visit of the small town of Chibia and its colonial style architecture.
Then we will head to a small Muila village. After greeting the village chief you will be introduced to their customs and culture.

Day 4
A day's drive to Oncocua, inhabited by three different ethnic groups, the Himbas, the Mucawanas and the Mutuas.
On the way we will stop at a small village belonging to the Mudimba people, whose women wear beautiful head dresses.
Dinner and overnight in a bivouac.

Day 5
Oncocua.
We will spend the day visiting the different tribal groups of the region, discovering their culture.
This is one of the most traditional regions of Angola, where visitors are rare and the inhabitants are very welcoming.

Day 6
Return to Lubango, with a stop atCahama, a village belonging to the Mugambue ethnic group.
Dinner and overnightat the hotel.

Day 7
Drive to Namibe, passing by the famous Serra da Leba.
We will stop in Caraculo, a semi-abandoned town with old Afro-Portuguese buildings.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 8
Direction Tchitundo-Hulu, stopping at the oasis of Arco and the small colonial town of Tombwua.
On the way to Tchitundo-Huluwe will see the famous Welvitschia, a thousand-year-old plant.
Here you will discover many prehistoric paintings, representing men, plants and animals. The age of these engravings is estimated at 20,000 years.
Dinner and overnight in a bivouac.

Day 9
Namibe.
The day will be dedicated to meeting the Mucubal people.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Namibe.

Return to Lubango where we will take our flight to Luanda.
On the way we will stop one last time at the village of Garganta, where we will meet the Nguendelengo people.
Flight in the evening, then dinner at your hotel in Luanda.

Day at leisure on the beach or visit of the city.

We will leave the Black Hippotragues for one of Angola's musts: the Calandula Falls.
Picnic at the Pousada facing the falls.
In the afternoon we will go down to the foot of the falls to have a different view.

Today we will visit the Pedras Negras, hike along the rocks of Pungo Andongo and have a picnic.
Dinner and overnight at N'dalatando.

Visit the botanical garden of N'dalatando and stop at Massangano - a small village that, in the 17th century, was the temporary capital of Angola during the Dutch occupation of Luanda.
